Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer issued a statewide stay-at-home order on March 20, 2020 to fight the ongoing coronavirus outbreak. The governors decree essentially orders all non-life sustaining businesses to close. In accordance with paragraph 8(n) of the governor’s order, Bay Shore Steel Works (BSSW) is exempt from the order to shut down its Michigan manufacturing facility. BSSW is considered an essential part of the Defense Industrial Base by the DHS, because of our defense work as a 1st tier subcontractor. BSSW currently remains open and operational.
